John S. Bradford, a partner with Stockwell, Sievert,
Viccellio, Clements & Shaddock, L.L.P., was a speaker at the Corporate
Counsel College in Chicago, Illinois on April 21-22, 2005. This year's program
for general counsel of major corporations was ";Partnering for Success
in the Boardroom and in the Courtroom."; John is a member of the Board
of Directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the sponsoring
organization for this lecture series.
Dick
Holliday, Works Manager of the Lake Charles PPG Industries Plant, has
been elected 2005 Chairman of the United Way of Southwest Louisiana. As Chair,
Mr. Holliday will be the chief volunteer officer, and will preside at all
meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, and has the
general management and supervision of the affairs of the corporation. Mr.
Holliday has served on the United Way Board of Directors, was the 2005 Campaign
Chair, the 2004 Campaign Vice Chair and 2003 Major Industry Chair. Also elected
to the Executive Committee were J. Allen McCall and Vicki Wicks-Vice
Chairs, Jim McGough-Treasurer, and Linda Breaux-Secretary. Dan
Losey and Frances Jouban will serve as Members-At-Large along with
Al Prebula as Immediate Past Chair. Elected for three-year terms were
Ed Chaddick, Rufus Fruge, Monsignor James Gaddy, Marianne Leigh, Robert
Chandler, Jim McGough, Al Prebula, Jeffrey Rippel, Fred Stiers and Mayor
David Riggins. Joe Miller, Jr. and Lance Hess were elected to serve
a one-year term.
Dan Ellender, Executive Director for the Children's
Museum of Lake Charles, has been elected Chair of the United Way of Southwest
Louisiana Agency Executives Committee. He will lead the United Way family
of agencies during the 2005 calendar year. As chair, he has responsibility
for conducting monthly meetings and networking among the agencies. He will
also serve on the campaign cabinet, supervising employee campaigns among the
forty-one organizations that are part of the United Way family, and on the
communications committee.
Julio Galan, Executive Director and CEO of Family and
Youth Counseling Agency (FYCA) has been elected to serve in the Alliance for
Children and Families - Public Policy Committee for three years. As committee
member Mr. Galan will assist the Alliance Public Policy Office in Washington
D.C. to develop a sound national public policy agenda to support the efforts
of children and family service agencies across the United States. Mr. Galan
will review public policies and program changes in issues affecting children
and families; recommend action, where appropriate, to strengthen services
for children and families; and consult with member agencies and state-related
entities in framing Alliance public policy priorities. The Alliance for Children
and Families provides services to nonprofit agencies and economic empowerment
organizations.
Roy M. Raftery, Jr., President and CEO of Cameron State Bank has announced
the promotion of Connie Blanchard, and Barbara Chaisson. Connie
Blanchard, has been promoted to Branch Manager and Banking Officer of the
Mid-City Banking Center. Blanchard has 27 years of banking experience with
six and a half of those at Cameron State Bank. Blanchard is a graduate of
Barbe High School. She has been married to Jack J. Blanchard for 24 years
and has three children, Sarah, Kelley, and Kelsey. Barbara Chaisson, has been
promoted to Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Carlyss Banking
Center. Chaisson has twelve years in the banking industry with two years at
Cameron State Bank. Chaisson has been married to Floyd Chaisson for sixteen
years and has three children.

Three representatives of The Eye Clinic were chosen as presenters at the 2005
ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons) Symposium and
the ASOA (American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators) Congress on Ophthalmic
Practice Management in Washington D.C. Denise Davis, COE, CMPE, Chief
Operating Officer for The Eye Clinic, conducted two sessions on practice management,
addressing leadership, and practice expansion into cosmetic services. Lee
Ann Hartman, COT, was the presenter at a session on improving surgical
practice management, and Janet Buck, COT, conducted a session on subspecialty
development relating to dry eye practice.
Theresa Woods, RN, Chief Operating Officer with West
Calcasieu Cameron Hospital recently completed a course on healthcare management
from the American College of Healthcare. Woods has been with WCCH for a total
of 25 years; a year and a half as COO, 16 years as Chief Nursing Officer,
and prior to that worked in nursing departments within the hospital. She is
a graduate of McNeese State University.
Ledral M. Simon, owner of Mass-AHHH!--age, located at
